This saves the oven from having to get back up to temperature once the door is reclosed in turn saving energy usage. Using this system will also detect when your food is done and will turn off the oven for you. Not only do you not risk burning your food but you also save energy by avoiding unnecessary overuse.

Scan your detergent using the app and let Home Connect do the rest for you. With the app, you can also keep an eye on how much water and energy is being used and how much each program uses, meaning you can make more sustainable washing choices. Flex Start is a useful feature if you have sustainable energy fitted to your home. This feature will determine the most efficient time to start your washing when the supply is high within the time frame that you set.
Dishwashers
Dishwasher Smart Features
With Intelligent Program your dishwasher adapts to your needs via a rating system after the wash is finished using the Home Connect app. It will suggest other programmes based on your rating.
With Smart Finish via the Home Connect app, your dishwasher will order tablets for you when it detects that you are running low.
You can download additional free programs using the Home Connect app so your dishwasher is better suited to your needs.
Start your favourite programs using your smartphone or watch while you are out of the house.
With Alexa, You can choose the exact start or end time down to the minute. You can also monitor the progress or instruct your dishwasher to speed up and reduce the program duration.

If you are going on holiday and are worried about using too much energy while you are away, a great energy-saving tip is to put your fridge/freezer on Holiday Mode. If you forget to do this in the home and can use the Home Connect app whilst on the way to the airport or even in another country. The app also offers My Storage, where you can input your recent purchases along with their expiry dates into the app and access these from anywhere to plan meals and avoid food wastage.
Additional Home Connect feature for most models
In a rare event where you may have an unexpected issue with one of your appliances, if you call Siemens service experts, they can remotely access your device with your permission to see the issue you are having and offer step-by-step info if an engineer is not needed. This saves both time and resources for everyone.
